Hillary, Heidelberg and Halloween

November 4, 2009

My friend Hillary came to visit me for the weekend because she is studying in London for the semester. I have known Hillary since I’m 5 years old and it is crazy to think that we’ve come so far from Kindergarden to studying in Europe together. It was really nice to have someone from home see what my life is like now and get an idea of my friends and what has been my home for the last couple of months!
We had a really fun weekend and it was even crazier than usual because it was Halloween weekend. Normally I’m not very excited about Halloween, but this year I guess because I am American and not in America I really enjoyed it a lot! Hillary and Me :) On Friday we went to a Halloween party and I was dressed up as a Yankee player (DEREK JETER, of course) and it was fun. Then on Saturday I dressed up as someone from the 80′s, basically it was just a funky outfit with shiny pink leggings, leg warmers, fun top, lots of color and a cute ponytail on the top of my head :) The party was crazy and I had a great time!
On Saturday during the day I brought Hillary to Heidelberg to see a pretty German city. I love Mannheim, but Heidelberg is much more of a tourist city with the castle and the older archiecture. The weather was beautiful and it was really nice to walk around the city. We went for a traditional German meal with my friend Ben who is studying in Heidelberg for the semester and then we went up the hill to the castle. Hillary pointing to the Heidelberg Castle I really think Hillary enjoyed the little tour of the city and seeing the castle. Then she got a charm for her charm bracelet with the very German phrase, ich liebe dich (i love you) written in a heart. It was really an awesome weekend!!
